Paper Petals

Just joined a stamping club hosted the Stampin' Up demonstrator I go to the workshops of! So basically, when meeting up you would make a set of cards (or card fronts) to swap with a recipe list of the items you used to make it. e.g. if there are ten people in the club, you'd make ten cards and swap them, going home with nine new ideas (you keep one for yourself ^^).

This is the card we received from joining up, just a taste of what we'll be getting.(And what we have to do!)

Although the next meeting is still in 3 months, we'll be informed as the time gets closer on how many cards we need to make, and at the first session we'll be decorating a box, which is sort of the mini mailbox to store our new cards!

It really reminds me of a book I read a while back "The Cookie Club" by Ann Pearlman. It's basically just a random novel about a cookie club hostess and what's happening in her life, her's family's and some of her close friend's lives. Each chapter introduces a new cookie recipe (I think there were about 12 club members) as well. What happens is that they make 12 sets of cookies, but rather than keeping the 12th for themselves, the extra packaged cookies are given to the local hospital as a Christmas gift to the long term patients. Might be a bit hazy on the details as I'm writing this from memory! And yes, here's a photo of it but I can't be bothered reading the explanation XD.

Font is different for each recipe!
 Info on ingredients!

And here's the blog address for the Paper Petals Stamp Club =D

Elephantina

One of the cards I made at the second craft session, the previous one I made with the elephant hot air balloon was so cute I wanted to keep it, so I made another one. Turns out it was super girly so I ended up giving the original away as it was a blue/grey design.

Ugly!

Just wanted to introduce a Korean girl group ^^ They are named 2NE1 (pronounced either 'To Anyone" or 21) and known as the female Big Bang.

I didn't really notice them that much, I did listen to the songs on their first album but it wasn't until they released their second album that I really started listening to them.

I particularly like their song UGLY because of the lyrics.

UGLY

I think I’m ugly
And nobody wants to love me
Just like her I wanna be pretty I wanna be pretty
Don’t lie to my face cuz I know I’m ugly

Or it might be better with the subs!

Another song...
LONELY

I received the album in the mail last week and it's filled with some really pretty artwork. I did read some of the reviews on yesasia and someone was disappointed that there weren't more pics of the girls but personally I liked seeing the cute artwork and I can just watch their PVs.

Rather than a book, you receive a set of cards with the tracklist and lyrics as well as the artwork. There is one photo of the girls which was an ad for their concert in Japan NOLZA and the first press came with a press card with one of the pictures.

The box itself is made of hard plastic, mine was a bit damaged but as I won it from a competition I can't really complain about it and I was planning to buy it anyway ^^. The photos of the CD (online shop) make it look as if the artwork is part of the box, but it's actually the first card.

My favourite songs would be Ugly, Lonely and Park Bom's Please Don't Cry - she's such a great singer. =D

Twinkies and such!

Have you heard of Twinkie Chan?? She's an amazing crocheter (is that a word?) who makes very cute food related crocheted items, though she is known for making some delicious eye candy scarves! She started an online store around 2005 and has gathered a following, probably from a first glance at her products!

I first came across her when I was looking at the Shana Logic store (amazing site, btw), I used to find super cute wallpapers off her other site and knew she also sold items on the side, but one time I looked at the store again, it had really grown from its humble roots and then I came across the most beautiful watermelon scarf, though I didn't really look into it's creator Twinkie Chan until later.

Anyway, yesterday I found she was holding a competition to win some really cute crocheted goodies, so this is really just another entry for me (to tell the truth)! But also an introduction to her very (very very veRRYYY) cool online store.

The funny thing is... I also bought her book today!!! XD I wasn't sure if I would, since I'm not really good at crochet yet, actually, I can't crochet, but couldn't pass up on the cuteness of the book. Which is the same thing that happened when I bought Gourmet Crochet lol!!

And here's the book with Gourmet Crochet and a selection of my other knitting/crochet books in the background.

I also bought a book called "DK: The Ultimate book of cooking hints and tips" by Christine France, seems like a pretty cool book though my camera batteries felt like dying before I could take a photo!

Some random egg-related crochet finds, since this is a crochet post lol!

Some more hot air balloons - cuter this time ^^

Went to another sleepover and I taught Soddy how to make the same card I showed Tiff ^^ We ended up using her cardstock supply O_O as I wanted to show the girls what my Sizzlix embossing plates, so I embossed a few samples and forgot to repack my cardstock :(

Photo's off Tiff's phone!

Soddy's card with a different angle to the balloon~

My elephant hot air balloon card - squeeeeeeee, guess it's looks like a good baby boy card!

Tiff's lovely creation, she chalked up some of the embossed cards (yay, they were used) after punching them with the bird punch that Stampin' Up has.

Gingerbread House display on the cruise

Awwwwww, it's so pretty and there was fake snow cascading down ^^ I was also playing around with the camera settings on Joe's camera, hence the fuzziness on the edges.
